PRAYER POINTS FOR BANORA POINT UNITING CHURCH FOR APRIL
The Psalmist declared that “The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”
And the writer to the Hebrews encourages us, because of what Christ has done for us, when he says. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help us in time of need.” (read Hebrews 4:14-16).
Let us truly, in our prayers “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.”
MONDAY: Pray for each Elder and members of Church Council, that they will be guided by the Holy Spirit, to lead us in the way that God would have us go, in reaching out to our community with the message of hope and salvation. That we, as a people, will be step out in faith, that as we move about in our community, by word, or deed, we will be a witness to the faith that we profess.
TUESDAY: Pray that in the many activities, provided for by our church, such as: Craft Group, Table Tennis, KYB, Men’s Group, Chaira Companions, Play Tots, Scripture in Schools, Adult Fellowship, and the like, that we will be prayerful, to seek opportunity to share the love of Christ with those whom we meet. Pray for the ministry of Blair Athol.
WEDNESDAY: Pray for those who are sick, sad, or are in particular need, you know them each one O Lord. Pray that the Lord will comfort and heal them, and give them a FIRM trust in His goodness, casting all their cares upon Him, for He cares for them. May they know in their hearts the peace of God which passes all understanding, as the old hymn says: “Be not dismayed what ere betide, God will take care of you.” Bless all who minister to them.
THURSDAY: Thank you for the opportunity to go to the Primary and High Schools to teach the Children of the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Pray that God will guide each one who teaches, that they will be much in prayer, and, guided by your Holy Spirit, be given discernment to be aware of the needs of those they teach. Particularly pray for the SRE teachers, and the young people they minister to.
Pray, also, that the Christian Community will, willingly, support financially the TCCEA programme.
FRIDAY: Paul reminded Timothy that we should “Pray for all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” And in Proverbs we read: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Hear our earnest prayer for the government of our land, Lord
Pray, that the Lord, that will give wisdom to those in authority in every land, and guide all peoples in the way of righteousness and peace, so that they may share with justice the resources of the earth, work together in trust, and seek the common good.
SATURDAY: Pray for Reverend Janie in her ministry, both in the pulpit, and in her daily contact with members of the church, her hospital and home visitation, and participation with the local community, including schools.
Pray also for each person who assists in the Sunday services.
Pray that, as we share in the Sunday Service, we may, each one, be built up in our most holy faith.
SUNDAY: Paul reminded Timothy that: “The Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus salvation.”
Pray for God’s blessing for all participants in the Bible reading programme introduced by Reverend Janie, that they may be enriched in their learning.
Pray for a deepening knowledge of the scriptures, and of ministry of Christian missions, through the Lenten studies.
